Dr. Phil Shnaider, C. Psych.

Dr. Phil Shnaider is a Clinical Psychologist providing treatment to patients across Ontario. He provides therapy for adults struggling with a range of mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief and loss, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and coping with life stressors and transitions. Dr. Shnaider also provides therapy for couples struggling with relationship problems.

In addition to providing support for a range of clinical concerns, Dr. Shnaider’s clinical work has focused on supporting those who have experienced trauma or are experiencing symptoms of PTSD. He provides training and consultation in first-line evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive processing therapy and cognitive behavioural conjoint therapy for PTSD, and has trained clinicians in the delivery of these therapies across Canada and internationally.

Dr. Shnaider received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). He previously managed and worked at the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, as well as worked at St. Joseph’s Healthcare’s Operational Stress Injury Clinic. He has also trained at the Psychological Trauma Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the Department of Family and Community Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shnaider is an Assistant Professor (PT) in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University.
